+I have a dream as an artist, that computers can be welcoming. To me and to any other user - even in any mood.
+
+Free software is build by many different developers in many different environments. We don't have directors, leaders and bosses. Because of this, consistency is a bigger challenge for free software distributions than for proprietary distributions.
+
+We in the free software movement love our computers with their clumsy looks, because of the freedom they represent.
+
+Consumers love proprietary computers because of the feeling of contemporary living they represent. The newest, fastest and most fashionable is desired.
+
+I don't fight against proprietary software. I work for the sake of diversity. I am not banning pop music or pop culture, but I want to play my music in my band. And I would like to hear others play their music. Surely we can be affected by trends, but strong music comes from the heart and touches other hearts.

+Designers have the users in mind. We don't aim to satisfy the user's desires, but we look for the users need. What is the purpose of this interface? What problems does it solve for the user? What is the user expected to do with it? And then try to come up with ways to do interact. And the first thing that comes to mind is mashine-like buttons, handles and sliders.
